Homeopathy pills for covid19 patients from two Mumbai wards with most cases

After hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to adopt homeopathy to prevent the outbreak of Covid-19 among the residents of two worst-affected wards in the city. The civic body said all asymptomatic patients in the red zones of G North and K West wards will be provided with Arsenicum Album 30 – homeopathy pills – free of cost.

This decision comes after the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), under the ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy), recommended the use of Arsenicum Album 30 as a prophylaxis (preventive medicine) against coronavirus. Earlier, HT had reported that BMC was consulting homeopathic doctors over the proposed medicine.

On Monday, Dr Padmaja Keskar, executive health officer, BMC, issued a circular regarding the implementation of the plan. She directed the ward officers of G North and K West to give the medicine to asymptomatic patients. “States like Kerala and Andhra Pradesh have already started giving the medicines to their patients and haven’t observed any side effects. So, we too decided to administer the medicines in wards with high number of Covid cases,” she said.

Arsenicum Album 30 is a known immune-modulator, widely prescribed for influenza-like-illnesses.

Dr Ajit Funde, associated with Maharashtra Homoeopathic Council, said the pill was showing promising results in other states. “Just like anti-malaria drugs—hydroxychloroquine, Arsenicum Album 30 has proven to be effective,” he said.

होम्योपैथी में अनुसंधान को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारत और इस्राइल में समझौता( India & Israel to enhance homeopathy research )

हाल ही मे भारत और इस्राइल ने सहयोग बढ़ाने और होम्योपैथी में अनुसंधान को बढ़ावा देने के लिए  केन्द्रीय होम्योपैथी  परिषद , आयुष मंत्रालय,भारत और एकीकृत पूरक चिकित्सा केंद्र, शेर ज़ेडक मेडिकल सेंटर, जेरुसलम के बीच हस्ताक्षर किए गए थे।  प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और उनके इजरायल के समकक्ष बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू के बीच वार्ता के बाद दोनों देशों के बीच 9 समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए है।  इसराइल ने चार वर्षों की अवधि में कई क्षेत्रों में भारत के साथ सहयोग बढ़ाने के लिए 68.6 मिलियन डॉलर का निवेश करने की योजना बनाई है।

The pact was signed between Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, Ministry of AYUSH, and Centre for Integrative Complementary Medicine, Shaare Zedek Medical Centre, Jerusalem.  India and Israel signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation and boost research in homoeopathy, a system of alternative medicine.  The MoU is a part of the nine agreements signed between the two countries after talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu.  The MoU envisages cooperation in the field of research in homoeopathic medicine. It included establishment of a joint working group.

लखनऊ में खुलेगा 50 बेड का होम्योपैथी अस्पताल

 

लखनऊ के अलावा कुशीनगर, बरेली, कानपुर और बनारस में 50 बेड के होम्योपैथी अस्पताल खुलेंगे। बजट मिल चुका है। डिस्पेंसरीज को भी अपग्रेड किया जाएगा। आयुष मिशन के तहत होने वाले यह काम मार्च से पहले दिखना शुरू हो जाएंगे।

होम्योपैथी की सेहत सुधारने के लिए मार्च से पहले आयुष मिशन के तहत बड़े पैमाने पर काम होना है। प्रस्ताव के मुताबिक इसी मिशन के तहत शहर को पहला होम्योपैथी हॉस्पिटल मिल जाएगा। सूत्रों के मुताबिक आयुष मिशन के तहत डिस्पेंसरीज के अपग्रेडेशन और अस्पतालों के लिए करीब सात करोड़ रुपये मिल चुके हैं। पहले चरण में लखनऊ समेत आसपास के जिलों की 36 डिस्पेंसरीज को अपग्रेड किया जाएगा।• वसं, लखनऊ : राजधानी में होम्योपैथी का पहला अस्पताल खोलने की तैयारी है। आयुष मिशन के तहत बीकेटी या गोसाईंगंज में 50 बेड के अस्पताल के लिए जमीन तलाशी जा रही है। इसके अलावा राजधानी की होम्योपैथी डिस्पेंसरीज को भी अपग्रेड करने की कवायद शुरू हो गई है। अभी तक जर्जर भवनों में चल रही डिस्पेंसरीज के लिए जल्द ही नए भवन किराए पर लिए जाएंगे।

Role of homoeopathic mother tinctures in rheumatoid arthritis: An experimental study – रुमेटाइड संधिशोध मे होम्योपैथिक मदर टिन्चरों की भूमिका

हाल ही में दो शोध पत्र प्रस्तुत हुये । एक IJRH के जर्नल में और दूसरे pub med पर पब्लिश हुये । पहले शोध पत्र मे होम्योपैथिक मदर टिन्चर जैसे Ricinus communis (RCMT), Rauwolfia serpentina (RSMT), Bellis perennis (BPMT), Curcuma longa(CLMT), Terminalia arjuna (TAMT) and Tribulus terresteris (TTMT और दूसरे शोध पत्र मे होम्योपैथिक टिन्चर Guaiacum officinale के शोधरोधी , वेदनाहार और संधिशोधरोधी प्रभाव का अध्ययन करना था ।

दोनों ही प्रयोगों के लिये एल्बीनों चूहों का प्रयोग प्रायोगिक अध्ययन के लिये किया गया । सामान्य लक्षण विलयन में 1% कैरागीनन की 0.1 ml की मात्रा दायें पंजे मे दे कर शोध प्रेरित किया गया । सोध की मात्रा का आंकलन पंजे की सूजन के आधार पर किया गया । विस्टर एल्बीनो चूहों के प्रपद तलवे में पूर्ण फ़्रायन्ड सह औषध ( CFA ) इंजेक्शन लगाकर संधिशोध प्रेरित किया गया ।

परिणाम:

कुरकुमा लौंगा और ट्राइव्यूलस टरेसटेरिस और ग्वायकम आफ़ मातृ टिन्चर द्वारा कैरागीनन उपचारित चूहों के पाश्च पंजे के सूजन मे कमी आयी आऊ पंजे का आयतन घटा ।यह शक्तिशाली शोधरोधी सक्रियता को दर्शाता है । सभी होम्योपैथिक मातॄ टिन्चर ने चूहों में उष्ण प्रेरित तापीय वेदना में भी परिधीय वेदनाहार सक्रियता दिखाई ।

Abstract
Objectives: The objective of present preliminary study was to assess the anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-arthritic effect of some homoeopathic mother tinctures viz. Ricinus communis (RCMT), Rauwolfia serpentina (RSMT), Bellis perennis (BPMT), Curcuma longa(CLMT), Terminalia arjuna (TAMT) and Tribulus terresteris (TTMT).
Materials and Methods: Paw oedema was induced by administration of 0.1ml 1% carrageenan in normal saline into right hind paw. Degree of inflammation was evaluated according to paw swelling. Arthritis was induced by Complete Freund’s Adjuvant (CFA) injection in metatarsal footpad of Wistar albino rats.
Result: Curcuma longa and Tribulus terresteris mother tinctures reduced hind paw swelling decreased the paw volume in Carrageenan treated rats. Thus, revealed potent activity against inflammation. All homoeopathic mother tinctures showed peripheral analgesic activities in hot plate induced thermal algesia in mice.

Anti-rheumatoid and anti-oxidant activity of homeopathic Guaiacum officinale in an animal model.

BACKGROUND:

Homeopathy is a popular form of complementary and alternative medicine. Guaiacum extract is said to be useful for pain and inflammation, but there appears to be no scientific evidence to support this.

AIMS:

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the anti-rheumatic and anti-oxidant activity of homeopathic preparations of Guaiacum officinale (Gua) on experimental animal model.

DESIGN:

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) was induced in male albino rats by Freund’s complete adjuvant (FCA) at a dose of (0.25 mg heat killed Mycobacterium tuberculosis/ml of emulsion). Gua mother tincture (MT) (prepared from the latex part of the plant) (MT), Gua 30cc and 200cc were purchased commercially from King Company, Kolkata, India. Male albino Wistar rats (130 ± 10 g) were divided into 6 groups: Sham control; Arthritis control; Standard treatment indomethacin (0.25 mg 100 g(-1) p.o. × 5 alternative days), Gua MT (1 ml kg(-1) p.o. × 5 days) treated; Gua (30c 1 ml kg(-1) p.o. × 5 days) treated; Gua (200c; 1 ml kg(-1) p.o. × 5 days) treated. Anti-rheumatic activity was examined through physical, urinary, serum parameters. All the results were expressed in terms of mean ± SEM (statistical error of mean n = 6) at each dose level. The level of significance was determined through one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), p < 0.05 was considered significant.

RESULTS:

It was observed that body weight, ankle and knee diameter, urinary parameters (hydroxyproline (OH-P), glucosamine, calcium (Ca(2)(+)), creatinine (CRE), phosphate (PO4(3)(-))), serum ACP (acid phosphatase)/ALP (alkaline phosphatase)/Ca(2+)/CRE/PO4(3-)/gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT)/Lipid peroxidation (LPO)/Glutathione (GSH)/Superoxide dismutase (SOD)/Catalase, serum GGT, serum interleukins like IL-1β/CINC-1/PGE2/TNF-α/IL-6, IL-12/IL-4/IL-6 levels were significantly affected. After treatment with Guaiacum in all 3 regimes was associated with normalization of these parameters compared to control group.

CONCLUSION:

These findings suggest that homeopathic G. officinale possesses anti-rheumatic and anti-oxidant activity in experimental animal and these activities may be more significant in higher potencies.

A German Train Named Samuel Hahnemann

The founder of homeopathy have been set many monuments, streets were named after him and stamps printed in his honor and now Hahnemann will be honored with the naming of a modern train

On August 27, 2015 has baptized a train the Elbe-Saale-Bahn in the name of Samuel Hahnemann- Father of Homoeopathy –  in Köthen (Anhalt) station. Central Association of Homeopathic Doctors paid tribute in their speeches the merits of Samuel Hahnemann.

Hahnemann laid the foundation that Köthen is today associated with homeopathy worldwide.

Thomas Webel , Minister of Transport of Saxony-Anhalt, Werner Sobetzko, President of the Municipal of Köthen, Henriette Hahn, German Railways, and Monika Kölsch, Chief Financial Officer of the German Central Association of Homeopathic Doctors (DZVhÄ) paid tribute in their speeches the merits of Samuel Hahnemann.

To appoint a train to Samuel Hahnemann, a wonderful idea.Hrdly a worthier namesake provides for a train that is traveling in the home of the founder of homeopathy.

The new double-deck coaches are air-conditioned and designed for a speed of up to 160 kilometers per hour. Its features include comfortable seats with plenty of leg room and tables, generous luggage racks and large panoramic windows. The vehicles are geared to the needs of mobility impaired traveler. They feature low entrances and spacious multi-purpose compartments with shelves for wheelchairs, bicycles or prams. Modern passenger information systems facilitate orientation.

This indeed is a great respect to true master of healing. Another reason for all homeopaths to celebrate. Looking forward to travel in the train during next visit to Germany.

Both took place in Germany and around the world teaching his ardent supporters, who the pugnacious scholar Hahnemann set many monuments. 1851 one in Leipzig, 1897, another in Köthen, 1900 probably the most monumental statue in Washington, in 1906 a street in Leipzig was named after him in 1955 and 1996 stamps were printed in his honor and now he is 2015, with the baptism of a modern train Elbe Saale Bahn honored to Samuel Hahnemann. That pleases us as the German Central Association of Homeopathic Doctors course especially.

होम्योपैथिक औषधियों की न्यून मात्रा और एवोगेड्रो ( Avogadro’s ) की संख्या – क्या एवोगेड्रो की संख्या से होम्योपैथी का मूल्याकंन करना उचित है ?

होम्योपैथिक औषधियों के विरोध के प्रमुख कारणॊं मे एक प्रमुख कारण होम्योपैथिक औषधियों की न्यून मात्रा   है । होम्योपैथिक औषधियों की न्यून मात्रा को विस्तार मे समझने के लिये औषधि निर्माण की प्रक्रिया को समझना पडेगा । होम्योपैथिक औषधियों मे प्राय: दो प्रकार के स्केल प्रयोग किये जाते हैं ।

क) डेसीमल स्केल ( Decimal Scale )

ख) सेन्टीसमल स्केल ( Centesimal Scale )

क) डेसीमल स्केल मे दवा के एक भाग को vehicle ( शुगर आग मिल्क ) के नौ भाग से एक घंटॆ तक कई चरणॊं मे विचूर्णन ( triturate ) किया जाता है । इनसे बनने वाली औषधियों को X शब्द से जाना जाता है जैसे काली फ़ास 6x इत्यादि । 1X  बनाने के लिये दवा का एक भाग और दुग्ध-शर्करा का ९ भाग लेते हैं , 2X के लिये 1X का एक भाग और ९ भाग दिग्ध शर्करा का लेते हैं ; ऐसे ही आगे कई पोटेन्सी बनाने के लिये पिछली पोटेन्सी का एक भाग लेते हुये आगे की पावर को बढाते हैं । डेसीमल स्केल का प्रयोग ठॊस पदार्थॊं के लिये किया जाता है ।

ख) सेन्टीसमल स्केल मे दवा के एक भाग को vehicle ( एलकोहल) के ९९ भाग से सक्शन किया जाता है । इनकी इनसे बनने वाली औषधियों को दवा की शक्ति या पावर से जाना जाता है । जैसे ३०, २०० १००० आदि ।

सक्शन सिर्फ़ दवा के मूल अर्क को एल्कोहल मे मिलाना भर नही है बल्कि उसे सक्शन ( एक निशचित विधि से स्ट्रोक देना )  करना है । आजकल सक्शन के लिये स्वचालित मशीन का प्रयोग किया जाता है जब कि पुराने समय मे यह स्वंय ही बना सकते थे । पहली पोटेन्सी बनाने के लिये दवा के मूल अर्क का एक हिस्सा और ९९ भाग अल्कोहल लिया जाता है , इसको १० बार सक्शन कर के पहली पोटेन्सी तैयार होती है ; इसी तरह दूसरी पोटेन्सी के लिये पिछली पोटेन्सी का एक भाग और ९९ भाग अल्कोहल ; इसी तरह आगे की पोटेन्सी तैयार की जाती हैं ।

विरोध का मूल कारण और एवोगेड्रो ( Avogadro’s  ) की परिकल्पना

रसायन विज्ञान के नियम के अनुसार किसी भी वस्तु को तनु करने की एक परिसीमा है और इस परिसीमा मे रहते हुये यह आवशयक है कि उस तत्व का मूल स्वरुप बरकरार रहे । यह परिसीमा आवोग्राद्रो की संख्या ( 6.022 141 99 X 10²³ ) से संबधित है जो होम्योपैथिक पोटेन्सी 12 C से या 24 x से मेल खाता है । यानि आम भाषा मे समझें तो होम्योपैथिक दवाओं की १२ वीं पोटेन्सी और 24 X पोटेन्सी मे दवा के तत्व विधमान रहते हैं उसके बाद नही । होम्योपैथिक के विरोधियों के हाथ यह एक तुरुप का पत्ता था और जाहिर है उन्होने इसको खूब भुनाया भी ।

यह बिल्कुल सत्य है कि रसायन शास्त्र के अनुसार होम्योपैथी समझ से बिल्कुल परे है । लेकिन पिछले २४ वर्षों  मे १८० नियंत्रित ( controlled ) और ११८  यादृच्छिक ( randomized )  परीक्षणों को अलग -२ ४ मेटा तरीकों  से होम्योपैथी का विश्लेषण करने के उपरांत प्रत्येक मामले में  शोधकर्ताओं ने यह निष्कर्ष निकाला कि होम्योपैथी दवाओं से मिलने वाले परिणाम प्लीसीबो से बढ कर हैं ।

होम्योपैथी के संबध मे प्राथमिक प्रशन उभरता है कि क्या सक्शन ( succession ) किये गये SAD ( serially agitated dilutes )  को तरल वाहनों जैसे एल्कोहल या जल  ( liquid vehicles e.g. alcohol , water etc )  से अलग कर के पहचान की जा सकती है जो होम्योपैथिक औषधि के रुप मे उपचार के लिये प्रयोग किये जाते हैं । हाँलाकि इससे प्लीसीबो के आरोपों से मुक्ति नही पा जा सकती लेकिन इससे पता अवशय चलता है कि हर औषधि की अपनी विशेषता क्या है ।

एक सदी से  मेडिकल साहित्य की समीक्षा करने से पता चलता है कि ऐसे कई रिपोर्ट उपलब्ध हैं जिससे यह पहचान की जा सकती है कि इन उच्च  potentised  dilutes का प्रभाव जीवाणु , प्राणि विषयों , वनस्पति और यहाँ तक कि जन्तुओं पर भी असरदारक है । इनके लिये भौतिकी और बायोकेमिस्ट्री दोनों का ही समय-२ पर प्रमाण स्वरुप सहायता ली गई । हाँलाकि इन रिपोर्टों से SAD की आणविक संरचना समझ मे नही आती लेकिन यह बिल्कुल तय है कि यह SAD  तरल वाहनों ( liquid vehicles ) से हटकर हैं ।

#       Homeopathic dilutions have been used since 1800 and remained unchallenged until determination of Avogadro’s number.
#       Homeopathic remedies were challenged only after the determination of Avogadro’s number by Millikan in 1910, a number of years after homeopathy came into use.
#       A mathematical calculation based on Avogadro’s Number led to the conclusion that homeopathic dilution must be nothing but placebo after homeopathy had already been used for 109 years !!
#       It is not proper to discount homeopathy simply on the basis of Avogadro’s number without clarifying the existing fundamental contradictions in science as detailed above.
#       In conventional medicines the molecules are believed to convey the medicinal power in the living body but in homeopathic dilutions it is not the molecules of medicine but the  electrical strain induced in the vehicle, by the  substance, that conveys the medicinal power of a substance in the living body.
#       When preparing serial homeopathic dilutions the electrical strain of the latter differs from the former dilution in regards to difference in molecular orientations of water  but cannot be determined due to non-availability of any such scientific instruments and for which the homeopathic dilution cannot be held responsible.

Haffkine institute comes up with homeopathy drug for Tuberculosis

Haffkine Institute is a one of the oldest biomedical research institutes in the country. It was established in 1899 and is named after the scientist (Dr. Waldemar Mordecai Haffkine) who invented the plague vaccine. Since then, Haffkine Institute has emerged as a multi-disciplinary Institute engaged in training, research and testing of various aspects of infectious diseases.

MUMBAI: Haffkine Institute, the 116-year-old historical research institute in Parel that has done cutting-edge research work in the field of infectious diseases, has worked out a homeopathic medication for tuberculosis.

At a time when several western nations, including Australia and the United Kingdom, have expressed their reservations against homeopathy, Haffkine Institute delved deep into the alternative medicine’s sub-chapters on nosodes—better known as homeopathic vaccines—to prepare an anti-TB concoction. “We are not experts in homeopathy but, as microbiologists, we understand the principles of infectious diseases,” said Haffkine Institute’s director Dr Abhay Chowdhury.

His team tied up with homeopath Dr Rajesh Shah for the project, which started in March-April 2014.

Anti-TB medicines are mainly allopathic and homeopathy has had little role so far, admitted Dr Shah. “But we believe that our new nosode can complement allopathic medicines given to TB patients, including those with multi-drug-resistant TB,” he said.

In fact, a research paper published in Homeopathy Journal in 2014 said “add-on homeopathy in addition to standard therapy appears to improve outcome in MDR-TB”.

“Nosodes are used against infectious diseases such as anthrax, tuberculosis etcetera. However, there have been no new nosodes in recent times,” said Dr Shah. For the collaboration with Haffkine, he took an old nosode prepared using the sputum of a TB patient as well as other microbiological samples of patients suffering from MDR-TB, and decided to rework it.

After preparing a culture of these microorganisms, the Haffkine team worked on making the medicine using age-old homeopathic techniques but in modern settings. “Homeopathic medicines are prepared using the process of potentization or step-wise dilutions. We did the same but more scientifically by using molecular techniques,” said Dr Sandeepan Chowdhary, a scientific officer with Haffkine who was a part of the study. He said that Haffkine-nosode, which now has a standardized formula, is undergoing animal trials. [Source]

फोटो हैनीमैन चौराहे,  लखनऊ  की है। वर्ल्ड होम्योपैथी-डे पर शुक्रवार सुबह नेशनल होम्योपैथी मेडिकल कालेज के छात्रों का ग्रुप यहां पहुंचा और होम्योपैथी के जनक डा. हैनीमैन की मूर्ति पर लगे बैन-पोस्टर हटाकर चौराहे को साफ-सुथरा कर दिया। युवाओं ने करीब एक घंटे मेहनत की। यह देखकर अच्छा लगा कि युवा दूसरों को दोष देने के बजाय खुद कुछ कर दिखाने के लिए आगे आए हैं। लोगों को भी सबक लेना चाहिए कि वे इनकी मेहनत पर दोबारा गंदगी न फैलाएं, बल्कि उनकी इस मुहिम में उनका साथ दें।

सर्दियों में सीजनल एफेक्टिव डिसॉर्डर (सैड) – Seasonal Affective Disorder or Winter depression

सर्दियों के दिनों अवसाद या डिप्रेशन की एक आम समस्या है ।  अवसाद कॆ  कारणॊ के पीछे कई वजह  हो सकते हैं लेकिन अगर आप सर्दियों मे दूसरे मौसम की अपेक्षा आलस, थकान और उदासीन महसूस करते हैं तो हो सकता है कि आपको सीजनल एफेक्टिव डिसॉर्डर (सैड) की समस्या हो। सर्दियों में अक्सर दिन के समय सूर्य का प्रकाश हमें कम मिलता है जिससे कई बार हमारी दिनचर्या और सोने व उठने का चक्र प्रभावित होता है। ऐसे में हमारे मस्तिष्क में ‘सेरोटोनिन’ नामक केमिकल प्रभावित होता है जिससे हमारा मूड बिना वजह खराब ही रहता है। कई बार यह स्थिति हमें अवसाद का शिकार बना सकती है ।
सीजनल एफेक्टिव डिसॉर्डर (सैड)  का वर्णन   मेडिकल सांइस मे सबसे पहले १९८० के दशक से दिखता है हाँलाकि इसके पहले कई चिकित्सक और रोगी भी इस बात से वाकिफ़ थे कि सर्दी का मौसम शुरु होते ही स्वभाव मे बदलाव दिखना आरम्भ हो जाता है । इस तथ्य का वर्णन पांचवी सदी ईसा पूर्व हिप्पोक्रेट्स  के कुछ आलेखों मे भी देखा जा सकता है । कई देशॊ मे जहाँ दिन काफ़ी छॊटे होते है और धूप का सर्वथा अभाव रहता है वहाँ अवसाद के रोगियों का मिलना एक आम समस्या है । जैसे स्वीडेन के उत्तर  भाग मे जहाँ छ्ह महीने रात और छ्ह महीने दिन रहता है वहाँ आत्मह्त्या की दर सबसे अधिक है ।

SAD के बारे मे कुछ तथ्य

• कोई आवशयक नही कि ठंड मे रहने वाले लोगों को ही यह समस्या हो , जो लोग उन जगहों पर रहते हैं जहां ठंड कम पड़ती हो और बहुत अधिक ठंड वाले इलाके में आ जाएं।
• महिलाओं में इस बीमारी की आशंका अधिक रहती है।
• 15 से 55 वर्ष की आयु वाले लोगों में इसकी आशंका अधिक रहती है।
  सीजनल एफेक्टिव डिसॉर्डर से पीड़ित व्यक्ति के बहुत अधिक संपर्क में रहने वाले व्यक्ति को भी यह बीमारी हो सकती है।

SAD के लक्षण

• लगातार थकान महसूस हो और रोजमर्रा के कामो मे मन न लगे ।
• मन मे नकारात्मक विचारों का बार बार आना ।
• सही प्रकार नींद न आना या बहुत अधिक नींद आना ।
• कार्बोहाइड्रेट युक्त चीजों जैसे रोटी, ब्रेड या पास्ता आदि खाने का हमेशा मन करना ।
• वजन का तेजी से बढना ।

SAD से बचने के उपाय :

• अपनी दिनचर्या निर्धारित करे ।
• रोजाना योग , ध्यान , मार्निग वाक और एक्सर्साइज करें ।
• थोडा खायें और बार –२ खायें लेकिन खाने मे हरी सब्जियों और फ़लों का सेवन अधिक करें ।
• सुबह देर तक न सोयें ।
• सर्दियों मे संभव हो तो दोपह्र का खाना धूप मे खायॆ ।
• इतवार को और अधिक खुशगवार बनायें ,  धूप का आंनद लेने के किसी पार्क मे जायें ।
• अगर घर मे ही काम करना पडे तो कोशिश करे कि ऐसी खिडकी के पास अपनी टॆबल रखें जहाँ प्रचुर मात्रा मे धूप उपलब्ध हो ।

मेडिकल उपचार
आमतौर पर डॉक्टर सैड के मरीजों का उपचार दो तरह की लाइट थेरेपी से करते हैं- ब्राइट लाइट ट्रीटमेंट और डॉन सिमुलेशन। ब्राइट लाइट ट्रीटमेंट के तहत रोगी को लाइटबॉक्स के सामने रोज सुबह आधे घंटे तक बैठाया जाता है।
दूसरी विधि में सुबह सोते वक्त रोगी के पास धीमी लाइट जलाई जाती है जो धीरे-धीरे तेज होती जाती है। सूर्योदय जैसा वातावरण तैयार किया जाता है। इसके अलावा योग, अवसाद हटाने वाली दवाओं और कॉग्निटिव बिहेवियरल थेरेपी से भी इस बीमारी का उपचार किया जाता है।

होम्योपैथिक उपचार

SAD के रोगियों को देखने के दौरान निम्म रुब्रिक्स  जो बहुतायात रोगियों मे पाये जाते है  :

• *Sadness, melancholy
• *Feelings of worthlessness
• *Hopeless
• *Despair
• *Sleepiness
• *Lethargy
• *Craving for sweets
• *Craving for carbohydrates
• *Company aggravates
• *Desire to be alone
• *Music ameliorates
• *Difficulty concentrating/focusing
• *Thoughts of death or suicide.

औरम मेट , फ़ास्फ़ोरस , सीपिया , रस टाक्स . इगनेशिया सर्दियों मे होने वाले अवसाद की मुख्य औषधियाँ है । हाँलाकि लक्षणॊ की सम्पूर्ण्ता ( Totallity of symptoms ) ही औषधि चुनाव का आधार है ।

लेकिन मुख्य औषधियों पर एक नजर :

Aurum metallicum is for those who sink into terrible depression in the dark of the winter feeling like the cloud is sitting over them. At their worst they feel that life isn’t worth living. They take solace in work and/or religion and hide themselves away listening to sad music until the sun returns the following spring.
Phosphorus has a really close relationship with the weather, loving the sun and sparkling with it – actually feeling invigorated by being out in the sunshine. They are deeply affected by cloudy weather – becoming miserable and gloomy the longer the sun stays away. In the deepest, darkest time of the winter they can slow right down, not wanting to do anything. Chocolate (especially chocolate ice cream) is their great source of comfort at those times – as are their friends. Even brief outbursts of sunshine on a winter’s day will lift their spirits, as can getting out with friends and going to a party or going dancing!
Rhus toxicodendron is useful for those who are particularly vulnerable to cloudy weather, who find that the cold, damp, wet and cloudy weather makes them feel just plain miserable. Their body reacts to the cloudy weather by stiffening up – especially the back and the joints – which makes them feel even worse. Getting up after sitting or lying down for a while is hard, and then continued movement eases the stiffness – unfortunately those joints start to hurt again if they are using them for a while so they have to rest – after which the whole maddening cycle starts again, thereby causing the restlessness that is a keynote for this remedy.
Sepia is for extremely chilly types who hate everything about winter: the damp, the rain, the frost, the snow, the clouds – everything. Their moods start to lift when they begin to get warm again in the late spring and early summer when they can get out in the fresh air and do some vigorous exercise. These people love to run much more than jog, and it is this kind of exercise – vigorous exercise in the fresh air – that makes them feel really well overall. If they can’t do it they sink into a depressed, irritable state where they want to be alone (and eventually, so does everyone else – want them to be alone that is!)
